ESCANABA — Locally owned Verizon authorized retailer, TEAM Wireless, will begin operating the Marquette and Iron Mountain Verizon locations effective May 1.

“We’re honored to have the opportunity to serve the wireless needs of the great communities of Iron Mountain and Marquette” said Owner and CEO of Verizon Authorized Retailer, TEAM Wireless, Brian Boucher. “We’re meeting with all current Verizon employees of Iron Mountain and Marquette and we’re excited at the possibility of adding them to our family of nearly 300 employees.”

“As a proud locally owned company with headquarters in Escanaba, this is a milestone for us in multiple ways. The addition of Marquette and Iron Mountain will bring us to 50 locations, 11 in the Upper Peninsula, and now we operate all standalone Verizon retail stores throughout the U.P. This will give our guests more options to receive full service across the area for Verizon smartphones, tablets, accessories, device repair, even Charter Spectrum.

“Inside our stores our mission is to bring the best in-store Verizon experience possible to our guests through outstanding service. Outside the store we are passionate with being a part of the communities we serve, through youth sports sponsorships, chamber of commerce involvement, and charity fundraisers. In 2017 we provided over $20,000 worth of sponsorships to youth sports teams in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. As a locally owned business, we were able to raise enough money to provide 10,000 meals to children and families in need during our 2017 Charity Fundraiser with Feeding America. We’re excited to bring this same level of community involvement to Marquette and Iron Mountain.”

TEAM Wireless was founded in 2001 in Escanaba. TEAM Wireless will now independently own and operate 50 Verizon retail locations 17 in Michigan, 21 in Wisconsin, and 12 in Illinois while maintaining its headquarters in Escanaba.
