The property was purchased with funds provided by the Land Exchange Facilitation Fund.

Leelanau Township exchange

This exchange was offered by the applicant, Leelanau Township, to resolve a trespass on DNR-managed land. The Township received 15.32 acres of land to consolidate ownership of the runway area at Woolsey Airport in exchange for 14.41 acres of land along Mud Lake. The acquired land adds public water access for water-based recreation and will be managed as part of the Leelanau State Park.

Lyme Great Lakes exchange

This was an exchange of 120 acres for 120 acres of land with Lyme Great Lakes Timberlands, LLC in Delta and Marquette County. The exchange consolidated DNR-managed public lands and provides opportunities for sustainable forest management. The land acquired in Marquette County is being managed as part of the Gwinn Management Unit and the land acquired in Delta County is being managed as part of the Escanaba Management Unit.

Richardson/Standish Field Office exchange

This was a three-way exchange between the DNR and two private parties.
