Ilsa and Fred Minor

GLADSTONE — Ilsa Marie Matthes became the bride of Frederick Lee Minor, Jr. during a small, private service held in a clearing in the woods at a family camp in Perkins on Oct. 10, 2020.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, there was no bridal party and guests were almost exclusively immediate family. However, the ring was presented by Nathan Minor, brother of the groom, and friends of the bride Tricia VanEnkevort and Haley Gustafson served as witnesses. Friend of the groom Josh Barron presided over the ceremony.

Fred is a 1992 graduate of Gladstone High School and the son of Fred Minor, Sr. (Sally), of Cooks, and Ann LaBumbard (Kenny), of Gladstone. He serves as the truck maintenance manager at Red Pine Equipment Maintenance.

Ilsa is a 2006 graduate of Herington High School, of Herington, Kan., and a 2010 graduate of Emporia State University, with a degree in communication. She is the daughter of Lloyd and the late Kristine Matthes. Ilsa is employed as the news editor at the Daily Press.

The couple has made their home in Gladstone, on the Escanaba River.
