Ammel – Shoemaker
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. –Katie Lee Ammel became the bride of Owen Robert Shoemaker on Aug. 21, 2020 at a 4:30 p.m. ceremony held in the chapel at the Blue Bridge Events Centre performed by Pastor Steve Andrews, followed by a reception and dance honoring the couple.
Katie chose her sister-in-law, Laura Ammel, and special friends, Gina Boldt, Lauren Louzecky, Megan Bott and Taylor Cagwin as her bridesmaids.
Owen chose his brother-in-law, Ryan Ammel, and special friends, Brandon Verkerke, Paul Louzecky, Taylor Loehr, Aram Grigorian and Darryl Goodrich as his groomsmen.
The flower girl and ring bearer were Sofia and Jack Ammel, niece and nephew of the bride. Readers were Emily and Chloe Shoemaker, sisters of the groom.
Katie is the daughter of Steve and Brenda Ammel of Escanaba. She received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and an associate’s degree from Baker College. She is employed as a physical therapist assistant at Walk the Line Recovery Therapy in Southfield, Mich.
Owen is the son of Robert and Angela Shoemaker of Rochester, Michigan. He received both a bachelor and a master’s degree from Oakland University. He is employed as a design engineer for Professional Sprinkler, Inc.
The couple enjoyed a pre-honeymoon in Traverse City and the Upper Peninsula, and plan a delayed honeymoon for 2021. They have made their home in Royal Oak, Mich.
