Wells Lions raffle winner
The $100 winner of the Wells Lions Club’s 52-week raffle for week 26, dated Jan. 25, is Ernesto Gustafson of Escanaba.
St. Anthony raffle winner
ESCANABA – Linda LaMarche and Father Tim Ferguson are the winners of the St. Anthony of Padua calendar raffle for the weeks of Jan. 19 and 26, receiving the weekly prize of $100.
Gladstone American Legion dinner
GLADSTONE – The public is invited to join the American Legion Post 71, 802 Delta Ave., for a steak feed dinner Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Post 71 members get a discounted price on their meal (must show card).
St. Thomas breakfast
ESCANABA – St. Thomas the Apostle Church, found at 1820 9th Ave. N. in Escanaba, will host a breakfast on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, pancakes, applesauce, juice and coffee will be served. The public is welcome.
Military 20 Year Club show
MARINETTE – The Military 20 Year Club will host their annual gun, knife and archery show to buy, sell or trade on Sunday at the Marinette Community Rec Center, 2501 Pierce Ave.
The event welcomes all – dealers, collectors and gun enthusiasts alike. Guns, bows, knives and related hunting items will be featured.
Doors open at 8 a.m. with the show running until 3 p.m. There is a fee for admission. Children under 12 enter free. Food and beverages will be available at concessions. Alcohol is prohibited.

Raffle prizes include a M1 Garand Rifle (Civilian Marksmanship Program), a MM-10 (.308) Rifle (Marinette Machine LLC) and a Ravin R10 Crossbow (Lena Swamp). Proceeds from the event will go towards the club’s group of retired military veterans with their scholarship program.
Delta County Democrats to Meet
ESCANABA – The Delta Dems will be hosting a speaker at their general meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Rd., Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.

Bay Sages monthly meeting
ESCANABA – The regular monthly meeting of Bay Sages will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. in the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay de noc Community College.
Bay Sages is an organization established to provide educational opportunities for older adults residing in the Delta County area. Dues are $20 for the year and include monthly meetings, coffee and cookies and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Dues are payable at the meeting or can be mailed to Bay Sages at Bay College.
Guests and new members are always welcome to attend. This month’s speaker will be Richard Reiffers President of the Delta County Genealogical Society.
Food items for the Bay College Food Pantry are gratefully accepted at all meetings.
Elks Auxiliary
ESCANABA – The Elks Auxiliary will hold their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 5. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:45 p.m. and meeting to follow.

YMCA to host Father-Daughter Dance
Escanaba – The Northern Lights YMCA-Delta will host its annual Father-Daughter Dance on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Highland Golf Club.
Ticket sales will end on Monday, Feb. 2, unless sold out earlier. Families are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Guests will enjoy a dinner and a full evening of activities, along with photo opportunities. Andrea Simon Photography will be onsite throughout the event offering professional photographs that families may purchase.

The 21st Kids Trappers Workshop
HERMANSVILLE – The U.P. Trappers Association – District 3 will host the U.P. Trappers Kids Workshop at the Hermansville Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. central time. All are welcome.
Attendees can view live trapping demos, enjoy hands-on learning experiences and take home free trapping kits. You can also purchase trapping equipment, win prizes, enjoy lunch and even sell some fur or deer hides.

Lenten breakfast and music program
ESCANABA – The Women of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba will present “Wonderful His Love for Me,” this year’s Lenten breakfast and music program on Saturday, Feb. 14. Breakfast will be served at 9:15 a.m. with a 10 a.m. program to follow.

A portion of the freewill offering will go to Bay College’s student food pantry.
Great Lakes Youth Pool Tournament
ESCANABA – Crazy Joe’s will be hosting their 36th annual Great Lakes Youth Pool Tournament on Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m. There is no entry fee.
The event, open to any boy or girl age eight to 20, will take place in Crazy Joe’s pool hall, 224 Stephenson Ave. The tournament will be played in an 8-ball format with double elimination across 10 tables.
There are three age divisions: eight to 12, 13 to 16 and 17 to 20. First through third place trophies will be awarded in each division as well as a custom cue and case will be awarded to first place division winners. Everyone has a chance to win a gift card, one for male entrant and one for female entrant.
All entrants age 12 to 16 must bring a copy of their birth certificate or driver’s license to the tournament. Kids must register before 11 a.m.

Escanaba Kiwanis Club Spring Expo
ESCANABA – Registration materials for the Escanaba Kiwanis Club’s Spring Expo vendor show are now available at their website, EscanabaKiwanis.org, by emailing a request to Kiwanis.SpringExpo@gmail.com or by leaving a message at 906-786-6013.
The Spring Expo will take place Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12. In previous years, the Spring Expo was known as the Home and Garden Show. The name change reflects the growth and evolution of the event to a celebration of everything the area offers as it moves toward spring.
Delta Animal Shelter requests donations
ESCANABA – The Delta Animal Shelter is in need of the following donations; Purina Cat Chow (blue bag), Purina Kitten Chow (yellow bag), NutriSource chicken/rice dog food, Purina One chicken/rice dog food, canned dog food, canned cat/kitten food, soft dog treats, scoopable cat litter, clay cat litter, bleach, liquid lysol, paper towels, dish soap, garbage bags, power laundry detergent, hand sanitizer and dog collars/leashes.
Donations can be dropped off at the shelter, 6975 County Road, 426 M 5, during business hours of 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or outside the building in their donation box.

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Church, 1920 Lake Shore Drive in Gladstone, has a free clothes closet with coats, and shoes available in most sizes. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays or by appointment by calling 906-428-9311. Donations are also accepted.
Escanaba Class of ’76 reunion
ESCANABA — The Escanaba High School Class of 1976 has scheduled its 50th reunion for Sept. 26 at the Highland Golf Course.
A schedule of events for the weekend and registration materials will be provided on the class Facebook page, Escanaba Class of 1976, or by email.

Donations sought for book sale
ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival.
They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested. Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.
Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The league is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests the books meet the donation criteria.
Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St. Donors are asked to use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208, and look for the league’s sign. For pick-up, call Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789.
