ESCANABA – Bay College’s most recent art installation, “Tired of Winning” by Emily Weddle, is on display in the Hartwig Gallery.

A reception and artist talk will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the gallery, 2001 N. Lincoln Road.

The gallery is free and open to the public.

Weddle is a mixed media fiber artist based in Marquette. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in intermedia art and a bachelor of arts degree in art history from Arizona State University, where she developed an interest in conceptual art, performance and installation.

Her previous work has explored themes of material excess and the passage of time within the framework of domesticity and motherhood.

Weddle’s most recent work seeks to explore themes related to distortion and distraction.

“‘Tired of Winning’ is an installation that began to take shape in the spring of 2025 to make sense of a rapidly shifting information climate in the dawn of a post-truth reality,” Weddle said in a written statement. “We have long been warned to watch out for wolves in sheep’s clothing, and ‘Tired of Winning’ asks viewers to entertain the notion that perhaps the ravening wolves have already arrived.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
