Taco Tuesday at Gladstone Legion

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone American Legion Post 71, 802 Delta Ave., will host Taco Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., offering tacos, burritos, nachos and more. Orders can be called into the legion at 906-428-1050 after 4 p.m.

Rapid Readers to meet

St. Anthony’s pasty sale

ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s Church will have its final pasty sale of 2025 on Thursday and Friday. Price is $6 each, with or without rutabaga. To preorder, call or text Debbie at 906-399-4259. Pickup will be at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. Deliveries can be made to any Escanaba businesses. Limited extra pasties will be available in the late afternoon. The church will not have another pasty sale until April.

Pasty sale in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71, 802 Delta Ave., will have fresh pasties available for sale Thursday, with pickup starts at 4 p.m. To pre-order, call 906-396-1181 and specify with or without rutabaga. The public can also walk in to pick up pasties Thursday while supplies last.

Free Bible class offered

ESCANABA — A free non-denominational course of studies, beginning with learning how to read the Bible with understanding, will take place on Thursday evenings starting this week in room 963 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College, 2001 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba.

The classes are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Early registration is strongly encouraged, as class size is limited.

YMCA Fall Family Festival

ESCANABA — The Northern Lights YMCA Delta Center will offer a free family day at the YMCA by hosting the Fall Family Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Families can participate in games and activities, as well as jump in the bounce house. Children can stop by the pumpkin patch to select a free pumpkin to take home and carve. Free open swim will be available at the YMCA pool.

The event will also have raffles and food concessions with family-friendly pricing.

“We’re excited about offering our fall event to the community at our new facility.” said Caron Salo, YMCA associate executive director. “We want to continue to provide opportunities for families to spend fun, quality time together.”

Gladstone Legion breakfast

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 will have a breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the post, 802 Delta Ave. in Gladstone. Cost is $12, with ages 5 and younger eating for free.

Eagles breakfast on Sunday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at 608 Ludington St. in Escanaba. Parking is in the back. For more information, call the club after 4 p.m. at 906-786-3451.

Bingo Sunday in Stephenson

STEPHENSON — The West Bagley Homemakers will sponsor a bingo benefit Sunday to raise funds for trade and technical school scholarships for students from Carney-Nadeau and Stephenson.

Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, S214 Willow St. in Stephenson, with games starting at 1 p.m.

Admission is a $3 donation per person. Along with bingo prizes, the event will have bucket raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Light refreshments and coffee will be served.

Applications for Christmas baskets

ESCANABA — Applications for the 2025 St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Basket Program will be available starting Monday and ending Friday, Nov. 14, at the St. Vincent de Paul Service Center, 115 N. Eighth St. in Escanaba. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Applications will be completed at the service center.The program provides a food box and gift requests can be made for children from infant to age 17.

Basket distribution will take place on Dec. 11-12 at the Ruth Butler Building on the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds in Escanaba.

Genealogy group to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta County Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in room 961 of the Joseph Heirman Building at Bay College. YMCA to have NERF event

ESCANABA — Northern Lights YMCA Delta Program Center will host NERF Night at the Turf for fourth through sixth grades from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Hannahville Ice & Turf Complex. The cost will be $10 for YMCA members and $15 for non-members. The YMCA will provide the space, obstacles and supervision. Players bring their own NERF gear — NERF guns, foam bullets, vest and goggles. All FOAM NERF equipment is welcome. Eye protection is required, and a limited amount of supplies will be available. Immanuel church rummage sale

ESCANABA — Immanuel Lutheran Church will have its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at 600 S. Lincoln Road, next to the Christian Park Center. Clothing, household items, furniture, toys and more will be available. Come before or after the craft sale at the high school.
