‘Tiny Galleries’ art display seeks 60 participants

HANCOCK — The Copper Country Community Arts Center will host 60 Tiny Galleries, a conceptual art installation.

The project is a card catalog cabinet consisting of 60 drawers, with each drawer being an individual tiny gallery space.

Each drawer can be claimed for an individual or group installation. Participation is open to the written word on multiple cards in a sequence — blank cards are available — and visual art which can be multiple works on paper or a 3-D installation to fit the card catalog drawer. Card catalog drawers measure 5 inches wide by 12 inches deep (depth can be adjusted down); drawer height is 3 inches.

There is no fee to participate and works will not be sold. For more information or to secure “gallery space,” contact Cynthia Cote at cynthia@coppercountryarts.com. Include “60 Tiny Galleries” in the subject line. Space is first come, first served. The deadline to secure a gallery space is Sept. 30. Installation will begin Oct. 1 and will be completed by Nov. 1.

60 Tiny Galleries will be at the Copper Country Community Arts Center, 126 Quincy St. in Hancock, starting Nov. 1. The opening reception will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern time Thursday, Nov. 13. Everyone is welcome.
