Business After Hours today

HARRIS — The Delta County Chamber of Commerce will have its next Business After Hours event from 5 to 8 p.m. Eastern time today at The Island Resort & Casino’s newly unveiled Convention Center Ballroom, W399 U.S. 2 and 41 in Harris.

The event will allow for networking, plus provide hors d’oeuvres, drinks and opportunities to play games and win prizes.

Delta Dems to meet

Escanaba library open house

ESCANABA — The Friends of Escanaba Library will host their annual Back-to-School Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The event will include a Scavenger Hunt where the young people will have to visit six stations around the library complex to acquire a stamp on their registration card. Once full, they will be entered into drawings for Amazon gift cards, to be held at 12:45 p.m. Winners need not be present. Snacks and giveaways will be done as well.

St. Thomas breakfast set

ESCANABA — St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1820 Ninth Ave. N. in Escanaba, will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. The menu includes eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, pancakes, applesauce, juice and coffee. The public is welcome.

Escanaba Class of 1966

ESCANABA — Escanaba Class of 1966 will have a reunion meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Drifters Restaurant, 701 N. Lincoln Road in Escanaba. All classmates are invited to attend.

Coin club to meet

MARSP meeting Sept. 11

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, or MARSP, will meet Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Road 338 in Carbondale. Registration will be 11 to 11:25 a.m. Central time and lunch will be served at 11:30 Central. Lunch will be a chicken dinner at a cost of $15.

The program for the day will be presented by Major Rhegan Stansbury, who will discuss Salvation Army programs which benefit those in need in Marinette and Menominee counties. A business meeting will follow the program. Members are encouraged to bring a paper product or cleaning product to donate to the homeless shelter.

Movie Night in park

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Recreation Department’s Movie Nights in the Park will feature “Minecraft” starting about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Karas Bandshell in Ludington Park. Those attending are encouraged to bring blankets or a chair and snacks to come to the park to enjoy a movie on the big screen. The movie is sponsored by Highline. In case of rain, the movie will be canceled.
