St. Anthony’s pasty sale
ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s Church is having a pasty sale on Aug. 14 and 15. To preorder call or text Debbie at 906-399-4259. Pickup will be at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba.
Delivery is available to Escanaba businesses. Extra pasties will be available in the late afternoon.
Esky Class of 1975
ESCANABA — On Sept. 27, the Escanaba Class of 1975 will be celebrating its 50th reunion at House of Ludington. Classmates were mailed a letter and short form to be completed and returned no later than August 15, 2025. The cost is $35 per person. Free Christian Celtic music concert
ESCANABA — MPK Celtic Band, a group that performs Celtic music with a Christian message, will be performing on Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeside Christian Church located at 2300 S 21st St. in Escanaba. The concert is free, but a freewill offering will be collected.

ESCANABA — Delta County veteran’s groups have announced their meeting schedule.

— Disable American Chapter #24 – first Monday of the month 7 p.m., Purple Heart building, 1202 Sheridan Road in Escanaba.
— American Legion Post #71 Gladstone – first Wednesday of month 6 p.m., Gladstone American Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave., Gladstone.
— American Legion Post #82 – first Tuesday of month 6 p.m., Purple Heart building, 1202 Sheridan Road in Escanaba.
— Veterans of Foreign Wars #2998 – second Monday of month 6 p.m., Purple Heart building, 1202 Sheridan Road in Escanaba.

Steam and Gas Engine Association book
ESCANABA — “The Upper Peninsula Steam & Gas Engine Association: A Narrative History,” a book celebrating of the association’s first 50 years, will be available for purchase at the U.P. State Fair, during the association’s annual Labor Day Show, and during Christmas in the Village. The book is filled with pictures and stories about the group and its history. The price is $35.

RAPID RVIER — The new veteran service officer (VSO) hours for Walter W. Cole Post 301 in Rapid River are Wednesdays, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone class of 1976, 50th reunion will be Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Gladstone Golf Club.
Organizers are working on the details but need help with getting the word out, If you are in contact with any classmates, direct classmates to the class reunion’s Facebook page, “GHS Class of 1976 Reunion.”

GLADSTONE — Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is having a 55th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 23. The reunion will take place at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village’s Community Center located at 401 Kenneally Blvd., Gladstone, beginning at 4 p.m. More information will be posted as soon as possible on the GHS Class of 1970 Facebook page.
Esky Class of 1965 reunion
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Class of 1965 60th reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 6 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Island Resort and Casino.
Twenty-two rooms have been reserved for attendees who wish to stay overnight at the casino’s hotel.
A tentative plan for the reunion includes an informal get-together at the Escanaba football stadium Friday, followed by a social hour at a bar.
The event cost is estimated at $30-35, to include a buffet, cash bar and some displays. The reunion committee will start working by early May. For questions, suggestions or to help with planning, contact Mark Miller at 906-786-1507.
