Escanaba River Legion to meet July 2

ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — American Legion Post 115 Escanaba River Legion and Auxiliary will meet Wednesday, July 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Class of 1975 reunion

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Class of 1975 will be celebrating its 50th reunion at Historic House of Ludington on Sept. 27, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

All classmates were mailed a letter and short questionnaire that should be completed and returned along with $35 if attending to: Escanaba Class of 1975, Joni Elliott, 1116 S 14th St, Escanaba, MI 49829 by August 1.

Delta Dems meeting planned for July 2

ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party (Delta Dems) will meet Wednesday, July 2, from 7-8 pm at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 West Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be performed by Country Express. There is a door cost and free will donation lunch will be available. For more information, call Lucy at 356-6459.

All proceeds benefit the senior corporation.

Kids Fun Day

ESCANABA — Lakeside Christian Church, located at 2300 South 21st Street in Escanaba, will be hosting a Kids Fun Day on Wednesday, July 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The event will feature a bounce house, face painting, games and crafts.

Esky Class of 1965 plans reunion

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Class of 1965 will hold its 60th reunion on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Island Resort and Casino.

The buffet dinner with appetizers costs $38 per person. Attending classmates are asked to submit their payment by Monday, Aug. 4 to provide an accurate attendance count. Make checks payable to “Escanaba Class of 1965” and send them to mark Miller, 5389 Portage Point 11.4 Lane, Escanaba, MI 49829.

Additional activities will be announced as they are finalized. In the meantime, classmates are asked to contact other classmates or friends who are not in the Facebook group.

LWV seeks book donations

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The League is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests that the books meet the donation criteria.

The book drop-off location has changed. Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St. Use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208, walk straight in and look for the sign. Pick-ups can also be arranged by calling Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789.
