Gladstone Class of 1970 reunion

GLADSTONE — Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is having a 55th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 23. The reunion will take place at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village’s Community Center located at 401 Kenneally Blvd., Gladstone, beginning at 4 p.m. More information will be posted as soon as possible on the GHS Class of 1970 Facebook page.

Kids Fun Day

ESCANABA — Lakeside Christian Church, located at 2300 South 21st Street in Escanaba, will be hosting a Kids Fun Day on Wednesday, July 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The event will feature a bounce house, face painting, games and crafts.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 West Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be performed by Country Express. All proceeds benefit the senior corporation.

Blessed Hope Baptist plans Vacation Bible School

ESCANABA — “Running With Jesus” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at Blessed Hope Baptist Church July 21-25 from 6:30-8 p.m. for boys and girls ages 5-12. It will be an exciting time of Bible lessons, music, crafts, and snacks. There will also be a visit from the crew of the StarShip “U.S.S. EyeOnthe Prize.”

Delta Coin Club to meet

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 5 p.m. in room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center Building at Bay College.

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Church Clothes Closet is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The closet offers free clothes, coats and shoes for children, adults and in all sizes, including infant and plus sizes. LWV seeks book donations

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The League is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests that the books meet the donation criteria.

The book drop-off location has changed. Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St. Use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208, walk straight in and look for the sign. Pick-ups can also be arranged by calling Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789.
