Winners of St. Anthony raffles named

WELLS — Recent winners of the St. Anthony of Padua calendar raffle for June 9 is Tom Stoykovich of Wells. On June 16, Mary Smith of Escanaba won the raffle. Both won the $100 weekly prize.

Don Poquette of Escanaba won the Feast Day drawing on June 13, donated by Crawford Funeral Home of $500.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 West Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be performed by Country Express. There is a door cost and free will donation lunch will be available. For more information, call Lucy at 356-6459.

All proceeds benefit the senior corporation.

Eagles breakfast

ESCANABA — Escanaba Eagles 1088 will be serving a breakfast at 608 Ludington on Sunday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a special guest for the children. Call the club with any questions 786-3451 after 4 p.m.

Free clothes closet sets hours

GLADSTONE — The Memorial United Methodist Church Clothes Closet is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The closet offers free clothes, coats and shoes for children, adults and in all sizes, including infant and plus sizes.

The church and clothes closet are located at 1920 Lake Shore Dr., Gladstone (near McDonald’s). Call 906-428-9311 for more information or to schedule another time.

Holy Name Class of 1966

ESCANABA — The Holy Name Class of 1966 is having a reunion meeting on Monday, June 30, at 4 p.m. at the Escanaba Country Club.

Veterans groups announce meeting schedule

ESCANABA — Delta County veteran’s groups have announced their meeting schedule. Amvets meetings are held at the Amvet building and American Legion Post #71 – meetings are held at Gladstone Legion. All other military organizations listed meet at the Purple Heart building, 1202 Sheridan Road in Escanaba.

Here is when each group gathers:

— Disable American Chapter #24 – first Monday of month 7 p.m.

— American Legion Post #71 Gladstone – first Wednesday of month 6 p.m.

— American Legion Post #82 – first Tuesday of month 6 p.m.

— Veterans of Foreign Wars #2998 – second Monday of month 6 p.m.

— Delta County Veterans Counsel – second Monday of month at 7 p.m. (following VFW #2998)

— Marine Corp League Detactment #444 – fourth Wednesday of month 7 p.m.

— Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter #1976 – last Thursday of month 6 p.m.

— Escanaba Amvets Post #123 – last Thursday of month 6 p.m.

LWV seeks book donations

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVDs and music CDs to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The League is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests that the books meet the donation criteria.

The book drop-off location has changed. Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St. Use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208, walk straight in and look for the sign. Pick-ups can also be arranged by calling Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789.
