ESCANABA — On Monday, May 12, Scout Troop 411 participated in an Esky Cleanup night down on Ludington. The whole cleanup “detail” was a group of 20 in total 12 youth and 8 adults, which included a grandfather.

The troop started at the Market Place with tools in hand and proceeded east down Ludington for about five to six blocks, cleaning, sweeping and shoveling as they went.

It is a key part of advancement in scouting to do service time for each rank. With a dozen scouts each doing about two hours of service, the scouts earned 24 hours of service time.

Participating were Scoutmaster Craig Woerpel and Scouts Franklin, Kennedy, Aiden, Erick, Gavin, Samantha, Brett, Cameron, Carley, Miranda, James, Braxton.

Adults helping were Melissa Hensley, Mike Markovich, Becky Landensberger, Cherese Lundquist, Gina Laur, Mark Rose, and Grandpa Dennis Pearson.
