Friends of the Gladstone Library hold event, donate $25,000

Courtesy photos Friends of the Gladstone Library held their 31st annual Candlelight Dinner on April 26, at All Saints Catholic Church. The dinner was a part of the group’s fundraising events. Eighty people attended the event that was catered by Matt Wiles Catering with dessert provided by Connie Salmi. The dinner and dessert was served by the All Saints Catholic Church Youth Group. Donations for the dinner were provided by Thrivent Financial, Trotter’s Floral Touch and UP North Roast. Music was performed by Maggie Smith. During the event there was 40 books given out as door prizes that were donated by the Friends of the Library board members, Sue Harrison and the Gladstone Library. “Golden Dusk,” a quilt made by Margaret Noreus, shown above, was a raffle prize won by Bonnie Oshe. Connie Salmi won a Kindle Fire that was donated by the Gladstone Library. The Friends of the Gladstone Library presented Lori Wells, the library director, with a check for $25,000. The Friends of the Gladstone Library have contributed a total of $40,500 to the Gladstone Public Library from May 2024-April 2025.
