Rapid Readers June ­discussion planned

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid Readers’ June discussion of “The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben will take place at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River on Monday, June 23 at 10 a.m.

Rally planned for June 14

ESCANABA — Delta County Unified, an Indivisible group, is holding a rally on June 14 from noon until 4 p.m. The “Flag and Country, Not Kings” rally will be held at the Karas Memorial Bandshell in Ludington Park. Guest speakers will be discussing topics ranging from county issues, education and library issues, veterans concerns, Native American concerns, immigration issues and more.

The afternoon will focus on the impact of President Donald Trump’s policies on the local community. Those attending are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.
