Escanaba Class of 1965 planning meeting

ESCANABA — Escanaba Class of 1965 is holding a 60th reunion on Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Island Resort Casino. To help make this event a success, classmates are encouraged to attend the planning meeting at Mark Miller’s home, 5389 Portage Point, May 28 at 7 p.m. Call Mark with questions at 906-786-1507.

The objective is to have a minimum of 100 members, spouses and other interested individuals join in the evening. Updated information will be available on Facebook page “Escanaba Class 1965.”

A limited number of rooms are reserved at the casino. For those intending to stay overnight, mention “Escanaba Class of 1965” when booking to receive special rates.

Additionally, assistance is requested in locating classmates who may not have access to Facebook or email.

Gladstone Class of 1970 reunion

GLADSTONE — Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is having a 55th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025. The reunion will take place at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village’s Community Center located at 301 Kenneally Blvd., Gladstone, beginning at 4 p.m. More information will be posted as soon as possible on the GHS Class of 1970 Facebook page.

LWV seeks donations

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVD’s and music CD’s to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival. They are also in need of large print books, which are often requested.

Funds from the annual sale are used to publish Voter Guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The League is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests that the books meet the donation criteria.

The book drop-off location has changed. Books can be delivered during normal business hours to the Ludington Centre, 1112 Ludington St., use the 11th Street entrance, Suite 208 (straight in) and look for the sign.

Those with donations can also call Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789 for pick up.

Democrats to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, June 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.

Gladstone library announces summer hours

GLADSTONE — Starting Monday, June 2 the Gladstone Public Library summer hours are as follows:

— Mondays – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

— Tuesdays-Thursdays – 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The library will be closed Fridays.

Starting at $3.50/week.
