Holy Name Ladies of 1964 luncheon
ESCANABA — Holy Name Ladies Class of 1964 will hold their 26th Annual Luncheon Aug. 14 at St. Anne’s Parish Hall. Reservations need to be made by Aug. 10 by calling 906-233-7128 or emailing Jalene Miller at jalenem@charter.net.
Spaghetti dinner benefit
ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — A spaghetti dinner benefit for Bob and Kaye Meyers will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall (Flat Rock) on Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. A $10 donation is requested.
Bob has been diagnosed with lung cancer and funds raised are to be used for medical and travel expenses. There will be bucket raffles, silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle.
Wells Lions Club raffle winner named
WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club 52-week raffle for the week of Aug. 5 is Mike Decker, of Escanaba, who won $100. This was the first week of the raffle.
St. Anthony of Padua raffle winner announced
ESCANABA — The winner of the St. Anthony of Padua Church raffle for Aug. 5 is Fr. Rick Courier of Rapid River. He won the $100 weekly prize.
Ice cream social Aug. 28
BARK RIVER — The Bark River Legion Auxiliary, Post 438, is hosting an ice cream social on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. EST under the pavilion at the Bark River Park. This is a rain or shine event featuring ice cream, a variety of toppings, bars/cookies, coffee and water.
During the social there will be entertainment by the Peltier Brothers. There is seating at picnic tables under the pavilion, but it is recommended guests bring lawn chairs.
A freewill donation is requested, with all proceeds going toward the U.P. Honor Flight and sending a high-school girl to Girls’ State 2025.
Stamp and coin club
ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club is Monday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. in room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center building at Bay College. The public is always welcome.

Car wash fundraiser
ESCANABA — Escanaba High School AP English students are raising money to help pay for a trip to Italy and Greece next summer with a car wash at Mark’s Auto on US 2 on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
