Car wash for EHS AP English trip abroad

ESCANABA — Escanaba High School AP English students are raising money to help pay for a trip to Italy and Greece next summer with a car wash at Mark’s Auto on US 2 on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The cost for the car was is by donation and everything goes to help students travel abroad. Contact Lauren Bishop, lbishop@eskymos.com, with any questions.

Delta Coin Club meeting Aug. 13 in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. at 921 Delta Ave. Gladstone. The public is always welcome. A coin auction will be held. Bring your coins.

VFW to meet Aug. 12

ESCANABA — VFW Post 2998, of Escanaba, will have their monthly meeting Monday, Aug. 12, 6 p.m. at the Purple Heart Building, 1202 Sheridan Rd. The Delta County Veterans Council meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner ­fundraiser for Meyers

ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — A spaghetti dinner benefit for Bob and Kaye Meyers will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall (Flat Rock) on Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. A $10 donation is requested.

Bob has been diagnosed with lung cancer and funds raised are to be used for medical and travel expenses. There will be bucket raffles, silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle.

St. Anthony’s pasty sale

ESCANABA — St. Anthony’s is having a pasty sale on Aug 15 and 16. To guarantee your pasties, call or text Debbie at 906-399-4259. Pick up is at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba from 1 to 4 p.m. both days. Delivery is available to Escanaba businesses.

Pasties are available plain or with rutabagas are available while supplies last.
