BARK RIVER — The Bark River – Harris Leo Club, after fundraising throughout the school year, made donations to local nonprofits and projects.

The Leo Club is a school-based division of Lions Club International. “Leo” is an acronym for leadership, experience, and opportunity. There are approximately 144,000 Leos throughout the world in over 5,700 clubs.

The donations made this year were to the Bark River Parks Project; Leader Dogs for the Blind, based in Rochester Hills; the Bay de Noc Community College Food Pantry; the Delta Animal Shelter; Tri-County Safe Harbor; and Pregnancy Services of Delta County.

The club is co-sponsored by the Heart of the North Lions Club and the Bark River Lions Club.
