Gylock named Elks Lodge Officer of the Year

Jennie Gylock

ESCANABA — The members of the Past Exalted Ruler Association of Escanaba Elks Lodge #354 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America have announced Lodge Treasurer Jennie Gylock, has been selected as the Lodge Officer of the Year for the 2023-2024 Fraternal Year.

Gylock is currently the Branch Manager/Human Resources, at Peninsula Federal Credit Union in Escanaba. She also runs a small hair salon at home. Gylock and her husband Chuck have three children Ava, Cole, and Caden. Gylock is involved in many things in our community. She is on the go all the time with her children’s activities and events, but she also has her family by her side in almost all the volunteer activities they do.

A few years ago, Gylock was the lodge’s citizen of the year. Shortly after that, she decided to become a member of the organization and has been active in the lodge ever since.

With major changes facing the lodge’s accounting system, members knew they needed someone that would not give up until it all made sense, and everything added up. Gylock was tasked with something that she was not at all familiar with, but for the lodge, she was willing to learn. Gylock gave a lot of time, effort and endured a lot of frustration over this past year, all for the betterment of the lodge.
