Democrats to meet

Genealogical Society to meet Monday at Bay

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Delta County Genealogical Society is Monday, May 20, at an earlier than usual time of 5 p.m. in the Joseph Heirman University Center building, room 961, at Bay College. The public is welcome.

Please bring your research problems and stories to the meeting. The Society is planning to update their indexes and need people to help. For more information call, Richard Reiffers at 906-233-9261.

Breakfast at Eagles

ESCANABA — Escanaba Eagles 1088 will be serving breakfast on Sunday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 608 Ludington St. The meal is open to the public. Call 786-3451 after 4 p.m. with any questions.

Esky Class of ’74

ESCANABA — The Esky Class of ’74 is planning their 50th reunion for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14.

Events are planned for both days concluding with a celebration at the Highland Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.

The reunion will include food, memories, memorials, ’70s music, plus much more. There are special discounts available at three area hotels. For more detailed information, find “Esky 50th” reunion Class of ’74” on Facebook.

Books sought

ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is looking for donations of books, audio books, DVD’s and music CD’s to be sold at its annual book sale at the Waterfront Art Festival. Funds from the annual sale are used to publish voter guides and for other voter services.

Donated materials should be no more than 10 years old and in good condition. The League is not able to accept and store large quantities of books and requests that the books meet the donation criteria.

The book donation location has changed. Books can be delivered to Garceau Insurance at 823 Ludington Street during normal business hours. Use the front entrance and staff members will direct you to the storage area. You can also call Pat Rudden at 906-280-1789 for pick up.
