Free sewing class
ESCANABA — A free sewing class for adults and children age 8 and older will take place this summer at the Community Hall at the U.P. Steam & Gas Engine Antique Village. The hall is the blue building by the Delta County Chamber of Commerce Building and is attached to the school house.
This “Sewing 101” class will include sewing safety, sewing machine anatomy, how sewing machines work, and a skills development project.
Classes will be held for four weeks in June. Classes are Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To register, call Larry Klope at 906-280-8578.
St. Thomas pasty sale
ESCANABA — The last St. Thomas pasty sale until September will take place May 15 and 16. Pickup will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on those days.
Pasties will be available with or without rutabaga.
