Free classes on Bible

ESCANABA — Free, non-denominational classes for Christian adults about better understanding the Bible will be presented by Christian author Steven Sprague at Harbor Lights Church of God, beginning May 21.

The series will teach the importance of referencing the earliest Greek and Hebrew manuscripts, in which the Bible was first written, as well as other tools for Biblical interpretation.

The classes will be held at the educational facilities of the Harbor Lights Church of God, 612 2nd Avenue South, in Escanaba, on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m., beginning May 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The class is limited to 30 participants, so early registration is encouraged. To register or for more information, call 906-474-6907 from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Saturday.

MARSP meeting Thursday in Menominee

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Thursday, May 9, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Rd. 338, Carbondale, Mich. Registration will be from 11:15 to 11:55 a.m. CDT, with the lunch served at noon. On the menu is a chicken dinner at a cost of $13.

The program will include a welcome back and a brief business meeting. MARSP Area Representative Don Johnson will give information about insurance and legislative issues.
