Gladstone Legion ­meeting, elections

GLADSTONE — A special American Legion Post 71 meeting will be held May 13, at 5 p.m., at 802 Delta Ave. in Gladstone.

This will be a reorganization meeting, nominations for offices and elections will take place. All American Legion members are asked to come to this meeting and make their vote and voice count. There are also many committee positions available.

DAR to meet May 11

MUNISING — The Onagomingkway Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, May, 11, from noon until 3 p.m. EDT at the First United Methodist Church, 312 Lynn St., Munising. The meal will be a potluck.

Gladstone Class of 1969 reunion set

GLADSTONE — Members of Gladstone High School Class of 1969 will hold their 55th year class reunion Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Gladstone Yacht Club. Reservations can be made by contacting Laurie Kaufman at 906-428-4623.

Gladstone Kiwanis meeting time change

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis Club is changing their meeting time to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The change will be effective Wednesday, May 1.

The Club will continue to meet at the First Lutheran Church, 1212 Minneapolis Ave., in Gladstone, and welcomes anyone who would like to attend.

Eagles memorial service planned for May 11

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles will conduct a memorial service of love and remembrance for all deceased Aerie and Auxiliary members on Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m. in the Eagles Hall, at 608 Ludington.

Deceased Aerie members to be honored are: Thomas R. Anderson, D, Thomas Anderson, Robert (Bruce) Carlson and William F. Cook. Deceased Auxiliary membered to be honored are Patricia Beauchamp, Nancy Gage, Gayle Gill, Patricia Ohman, Arlene Paulson, Catherine Plank and Christine Trepanier.

Democrats to meet Wednesday

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, May 1, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 pm.
