Families Against Narcotics plan meetings

ESCANABA — Do you or a loved one suffer from the disease of addiction? If you are looking for support, guidance, or just making connections with others who are struggling with addiction or its impact, you are welcome at Families Against Narcotics meetings.

The meetings are held and second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Northern Lights YMCA building, located at 200 N. 30th St., in Escanaba.

Easter Brunch at Elks

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks Easter Brunch will be open to the public, Sunday, March 31. Serving will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For group reservations of six or more, call 786-2294, Thursday through Sunday after 4 p.m.

Candlelight dinner for library tickets available

GLADSTONE –The 30th annual Friends of the Gladstone Library Candlelight Dinner will be held Saturday, April 27 at 6 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The dinner will feature a deconstructed chicken cordon bleu by Matt Wiles Catering. A “Share the Wealth” drawing, a book raffle, and entertainment will be part of the evening’s activities. A quilt created and donated by Margaret Noreus will be raffled off during the event. The winner does not need to be present at the dinner to win the quilt.

The public is invited to the dinner. Proceeds help fund the library and activities and programs for the community, especially children, such as story hours and the summer reading program. This year, the Friends of the Library will be presenting a donation of $25,000 to the library at the dinner.

Tickets for the dinner and for the quilt raffle can be purchased at the Gladstone Public Library or from a Friends of the Library member. Dinner tickets must be purchased by April 17, but quilt raffle tickets are available up until the time of the drawing.

Democrats to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta Dems will meet Wednesday, April 3, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the USW Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m.

Elks Auxiliary to meet

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks Auxiliary will meet Thursday, April 4. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:45 p.m. and the meeting to follow.

Veteran Service Officer hours in Rapid River

RAPID RVIER — The new veteran service officer (VSO) hours for Walter W. Cole Post 301 in Rapid River are Wednesdays, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
