Wells Lions Club raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club 52 week raffle for the week of Nov. 20 is Jim Jones of Los Banos, Calif., who won $100. This was week 16 of the raffle.

DAR sets December meeting, Christmas tea

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Dickinson County Public Library from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST). The luncheon will be a potluck with a Christmas tea and the program will be a “Revolutionary Christmas in Michigan.”

For those interested in joining DAR, we will be happy to answer any questions after the meeting.

Salvation Army giving trees at YMCA

ESCANABA — The Northern Lights YMCA – Delta Center is partnering with Escanaba’s Salvation Army this holiday season to provide Christmas gifts to local children. Those wishing to donate as asked to pick a gift tag for a special child from the front desk Christmas trees located at the main YMCA location and the aquatic center. A third tree is located at the YMCA Wells Child Care & Youth Center in Wells.

Gifts should be returned unwrapped with the child’s gift tag attached by Wednesday, Dec. 13 to the YMCA or Escanaba’s Salvation Army. Call 906-789-0005 for more information.

MARSP to meet

CARBONDALE — The Menominee County Chapter of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Road 338 in Carbondale. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Central time and the meal will be served at noon at a cost of $16.

Members are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys, books and games to be distributed to the needy.

In the event of inclement weather on Dec. 7, the alternate date for the meeting would be Dec. 14.
