Kiwanis Tree of Honor and Remembrance

GLADSTONE — Forms are available to purchase lights for the Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis 2023 Christmas Tree of Honor and Remembrance. The tree will be located in Gladstone’s Van Cleve Park at the Beach House.

The tree will be lit on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. and stay lit through Friday, Jan. 5. Lights are available to purchase for $5 or 3 lights for $10. Forms can be found at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone, First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, the Gladstone Public Library, Pat’s Food in Gladstone, or by going to our website www.gladstonekiwanis.weebly.com

Forms can also be found and dropped off at the Gladstone City Hall. Forms must be received by Nov. 27. Names of those honored and remembered will be posted on the Gladstone Kiwanis Facebook page and on their website, www.gladstonekiwanis.weebly.com.

NARFE Chapter 1900 meets Wednesday

ESCANABA — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1900 will meet by Zoom only at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22. The meeting will include the election of 2024 Chapter officers.

Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Members who are not on the chapter email distribution list and who want to receive the Zoom link and passcode should email upmags@gmail.com.

Any active or retired Federal employees are invited to attend NARFE meetings. Non-members are welcome as guests.

NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, L’Anse, Houghton and Hancock areas. For additional information please email upmags@gmail.com.

Alternative Giving Bazaar

GLADSTONE — Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone is hosting an “Alternative Giving Bazaar.” This is an opportunity to think out of the box for your holiday giving.

All “gifts” purchased at this event will support a local, national or international non-profits. The bazaar will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Coffee and cinnamon rolls and a light lunch of soup, roll and drink will be available for purchase.
