Barbershop chorus set for Oct. 7 concert
ESCANABA -- The Remnants Barbershop Chorus will hold a concert on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Escanaba Upper Elementary. The date was previously misreported, and the Daily Press apologizes for any confusion.
Veterans Service Officer available at Legion
RAPID RIVER -- Veterans Service Officer Shay Grady will be at the Rapid River Legion Post 301 on Wednesdays through December. From September through November, Grady will be available from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and he will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays in December.

All-you-can-eat breakfast
GLADSTONE -- American Legion Post 71 of Gladstone will be hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome.
Cribbage play to start
GLADSTONE -- The Gladstone cribbage club, Bay de Noc Peggers #218, will begin play on Sept. 11. Cribbage play begins at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Gladstone.
Club 218 is affiliated with the American Cribbage Congress and plays 36 weeks from September through May each year. Points are accumulated and prizes are earned. There are nine games played each week and players draw for seating.
