ESCANABA -- The Jesus Festival, which came to Escanaba July 28 and 29, was a historic and impactful event, according to organizers.
While Escanaba only has a population of 12,416, there were 2,436 people who attended the two-day event. During that time, 260 people dedicated their life to Jesus and 40 people were baptized.
The event was put on by missionary and evangelist Paul Maurer with the help of 200 volunteers, from 10 churches and denominations.
