Pride picnic creates welcoming atmosphere

ESCANABA -- A pride picnic was held June 4 at the Escanaba Marketplace. The vent was sponsored by the Bay de Noc Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and For The Love of Cupcakes.
The purpose of the picnic was to provide a public event with an atmosphere where guests could be comfortable and feel welcome and accepted.
The event featured free hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Activities included music, lawn games, and a hands-on station for creating and displaying posters and artwork.
Tables with handouts and resource information were staffed by the Unitarian Universalists, Bay College Pride and Equality Michigan from Marquette.
