Menominee MARSP meeting June 8

MENOMINEE — The Menominee County Chapter of Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Thursday, June 8, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Rd. 338, Carbondale, Michigan. Registration is  from 11 to 11:55 a.m. CDT with the luncheon served at noon. There is a cost to the meal.

The program will be presented by award-winning author Ann Dallman. She will speak about her latest book, “Cady and the Birchbark Box.”

Following the meeting, the chapter memorial service will be held to honor and remember deceased Menominee County chapter members from the past year.

Delta Dems to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party meets the first Wednesday of each month at the United Steelworkers Hall (USW), 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba, at 7 p.m.

DAR plans June meeting

L’ANSE — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, June 10 at the home of Linda York, located at 13294 Shore Dr. in L’Anse, from noon until 3 p.m. EDT. The luncheon will be a potluck and the program will be The History of Pequaming.

The Garden Peninsula Historical Society

GARDEN — The Garden Peninsula Historical Society will open the Schoolhouse Museum on June 9 at 11 a.m.

The museum will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family history notebooks as well as photo albums are available. Artifacts representing the early life of pioneering families, early wedding gowns, furniture and tools are on display, as well as many other interesting Garden Peninsula memories.
