Sons of Union Veterans meeting Saturday

MARQUETTE — Camp #266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting on Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time in Room 317 of the Thomas Fine Arts Building on the Northern Michigan University Campus.

There is also an option to attend by Zoom. The link is available on the organization’s facebook page www.facebook.com/SUVCWCamp266, as are directions to the meeting room.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Camp #266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking, and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history. Anyone interested in the Civil War era is welcome to attend the meeting.

Delta Dems to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta County Democratic Party meets the first Wednesday of each month at the United Steelworkers Hall (USW), 1201 Sheridan Road, Escanaba, at 7 p.m.

DAR to meet June 10

L’ANSE — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, June 10 at the home of Linda York, located at 13294 Shore Dr. in L’Anse, from noon until 3 p.m. EDT. The luncheon will be a potluck and the program will be The History of Pequaming.

All-you-can-eat breakfast

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River Legion Post 301 will be hosting its second Sunday all-you-can-eat breakfast at the post’s hall on June 11, from 8 a.m. to noon.
