NARFE to meet
MARQUETTE -- The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1900 will meet at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, in person and on Zoom. The guest speaker, by Zoom, will be Jeremy Hansen, director and owner of Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services. He will speak on how to arrange a funeral.
The in-person meeting will be at the Marquette Senior Center, 300 W. Spring Street in Marquette, on the lower level of City Hall. Spring Street is one-way from east to west.
Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Members who are not on the chapter email distribution and who want to receive the Zoom link and passcode should email upmags@gmail.com.
Any active or retired Federal employees are invited to attend NARFE meetings. Non-members are welcome as guests.
NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, L'Anse, Houghton and Hancock areas. For additional information, email upmags@gmail.com.
Esky Class of '73 50th reunion Sept. 16
ESCANABA -- The Escanaba High School Class of 1973 will celebrate their 50th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Island Resort and Casino.
Members of the planning group are working on updating addresses for the mailing and the memory booklet. Text or call Kay at 906-235-2027 and leave your name and address.
The class of 1973 was one of the largest to finish the Escanaba High School and the class hopes to have as many attend the reunion as possible. There will be time to catch up, play golf, enjoy games and cards, tour the high school and enjoy beautiful Escanaba.

Steak feed April 27
GLADSTONE -- The American Legion Post 71 will host a steak feed dinner featuring fillet mignon on Thursday, April 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit local community needs and programs for veterans.
