NARFE to meet
MARQUETTE -- The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1900 will meet at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, in person and on Zoom. The guest speaker, by Zoom, will be Jeremy Hansen, director and owner of Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services. He will speak on how to arrange a funeral.
The in-person meeting will be at the Marquette Senior Center, 300 W. Spring Street in Marquette, on the lower level of City Hall. Spring Street is one-way from east to west.
Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Members who are not on the chapter email distribution and who want to receive the Zoom link and passcode should email upmags@gmail.com.
Any active or retired Federal employees are invited to attend NARFE meetings. Non-members are welcome as guests.
NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, L'Anse, Houghton and Hancock areas. For additional information, email upmags@gmail.com.
Lions Club spring social
GLADSTONE -- The Gladstone Lions Club will hold their annual Spring Social and Fundraiser on Saturday, April 22. The Bay de Noc Lions have joined the Gladstone Lions in helping with this fundraiser. The event will be held at the Bluff Country Club with music provided by the Jam Band.
Tickets will be available at the door, and doors open at 7 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased at all Baybank locations, all Northern Insurance locations, and Upper Peninsula State Bank in Gladstone.
There will be raffles during the event. The fundraiser is sponsored in part by Baybank. Jam Band will begin performing at 8 p.m.
The event will benefit both the Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department.
Legion spaghetti dinner
HERMANSVILLE -- Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Post 340 Ladies Auxiliary of Hermansville will hold a spaghetti dinner Saturday, April 22.
