The Hawks defeated the Marquette Sentinels in the semi-finals of the league play-offs and then went on to beat the Portage Lake Pioneers to win the cup. In addition to being the team’s general manager, Ward was the manager of the Daily Press in the 1950s and 1960s until he relocated to Green bay, Wis. Local players not pictured are Ted Olson, Doug Peterson and Hunter Hamilton.
