Elks Auxiliary to meet

ESCANABA — The Elks Axillary will hold their December meeting Thursday, Dec. 1. Social hour is at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:45 p.m., and the meeting to follow.

Toys will be collected for Toys for Tots and members are asked to remember to wear an ugly sweater to win a prize.

AAUW Christmas lunch

ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold a Christmas luncheon at Hereford and Hops on Dec. 3 starting at 11:30 a.m.

Members and guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy appropriate for children up to 18 years of age. Gift cards would also be appreciated.

RSVP to Judy at 906-789-1905 by Dec. 1.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. Founded in 1881, the organization is recognized for its advancement of equality for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.

Annual dinner bazaar

ESCANABA — St. Anthony and St. Thomas will be hosting a dinner bazzar on Dec. 4. The annual event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Thomas hall, 1820 9th Avenue North in Escanaba, will include dinner, a bake sale, silent auction, craft sale and raffles. Take out meals will be available.

Blue Christmas event

ESCANABA — Blue Christmas, a free community event for those dealing with loss or grieving this Christmas season, will take place Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Heirman Joseph University Center at Bay College in room 952.

Anyone affected by loss is welcome to attend the event, where ways to celebrate the season despite grief and move forward with hope will be discussed.

The event is sponsored by the Delta County Victim Service Unit.
