Blue Christmas event offers hope for holidays
ESCANABA — Blue Christmas, a free community event for those dealing with loss or grieving this Christmas season, will take place Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College in room 952.
Anyone affected by loss is welcome to attend the event, where ways to celebrate the season despite grief and move forward with hope will be discussed.
The event is sponsored by the Delta County Victim Service Unit.
Grace hosts community Thanksgiving dinner
GLADSTONE — Grace Church in Gladstone will be serving a community thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 24.
The dinner will be available between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 528 28th St. in Gladstone. It will be held in the multi-purpose room. There will be no deliveries or carryouts. Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins are also welcome. A sign-up sheet will be at the church Welcome Center, as well.

AAUW Christmas lunch
ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold a Christmas luncheon at Hereford and Hops on Dec. 3 starting at 11:30 a.m.
Members and guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy appropriate for children up to 18 years of age. Gift cards would also be appreciated.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associate’s degree or higher. Founded in 1881, the organization is recognized for its advancement of equality for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.
Taco Tuesday returns
GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is back at the American Legion in Gladstone. Tacos will be served every Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.
