Pregnancy Services launches building campaign

ESCANABA — During Pregnancy Services of Delta County’s second annual banquet, held at the Terrace Bay Hotel on Oct. 6, the crisis pregnancy center announced its plan to expand its operations.

The “Building a Future of Hope Together” campaign was announced at the meeting. Through the campaign, PSDC aims to purchase and renovate a building located at 2501 First Ave. North in Escanaba. Cindy Asher, executive director for PSDC, said the larger space is needed for ultrasound services, adding additional programs, and adding more private counseling rooms and office space.

It was also announced that an ultrasound machine was donated to PSDC by the Knights of Columbus and the Livingston County Ultrasound Initiative. According to the National Institute of Family and Live Advocates, 80% of women seeking an abortion that view the fetus via ultrasound do not terminate their pregnancy.

Keynote speaker at the event was Rebekah Hagan, a mission advancement officer at Heartbeat International. The 220 attendees also heard a testimony from a PSDC client and an update on the crisis pregnancy center from Asher.

Starting at $3.50/week.
