Lioness Club donates to after school program

ESCANABA — The Wells Lioness Club has donated to the Catherine Bonifas Civic Center After School Program. The program started back up on Oct. 3, after being shut down due to the pandemic and lack of available staff since March 2020.

“The After School Program has been running for a couple of weeks and there are currently 87 students registered,” said Escanaba Recreation Director Kim Peterson, who added the recreation department is grateful to the club for its donation.

Students in grades 4-12 can come to the Civic Center Monday through Friday, from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 6:30 p.m. The facility is supervised and provides food and snacks, hygiene items and school supplies.

Starting at $4.00/week.
