Digital literacy at Menominee County Library

STEPHENSON — From basics to browsing, the Menominee County Library has received a grant to help those who might need assistance with technology. The library will be providing free workshops and scheduling one-on-one tech help. Call the library at 906-753-6923 to sign up for a workshop or to schedule one-on-one time.

The classes scheduled at the Main Library in Stephenson for the month of October are:

Internet Basics — Offered Thursday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.

Mobile Device Basics for Apple (iOS devices) — Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.

Computer Basics – Starting at Square One — Thursday Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

Additional workshops are planned and will be announced by the library.

Funding for this tech program are provided in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan and by a grant from the Public Library Association (PLA) to conduct digital literact workshops using digitallearn.org resources. The PLA Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive, supported by AT&T, provides support ro libraries of all sizes to conduct digital literacy training in their communities to help close the digital divide.
