Christian musician ­cancels local tour

ESCANABA — A Swedish Christian music artist to was scheduled to appear at area churches will not perform as scheduled because she has contracted COVID-19

Jessica Falk was scheduled to appear at five area churches between Oct. 27 and Oct. 30. On her tour were Porterfield Lutheran Church in Porterfield, St. Stephen’s Church in Stephenson, Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee, Community Lutheran Church in McAllister, and Salem Lutheran Church in Bark River.

Falk is in Nashville, Tenn. to record new songs for her upcoming album. According to her husband, she tested positive for the virus and is extremely ill. She had to cancel her recording sessions and will not be able to travel to this area due to quarantines and her health.

Jessica extends her sincere apologies for her cancellations.

Halloween Story Hour Saturday in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library will be holding a “Spookadelic Halloween!” Story Hour on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

All children ages 2 to 10 years old are welcome to join in the “spine-tingling” festivities. Children are invited to come dressed in costume.

Those in attendance will have a chance to win a free prize. Activities will include spooky tales, music, crafts and a special treat.
