Taco Tuesday returns

GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is back at the American Legion in Gladstone. Tacos will be served every Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.

Rosary Coast to Coast at St. Anne’s Church

ESCANABA — On Sunday, Oct. 9, Catholics of all ages across the world will unite in simultaneous prayer.

Those who would like to participate locally are invited to St. Anne’s Church for the Rosary Coast to Coast rally. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be at 3:50 with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Bars and coffee will be available in the parish hall following the rally.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by the Red River Band. There is a cost at the door and a free-will donation lunch will be available.

Karaoke at AMVETS

ESCANABA — AMVETS Post 123 of Escanaba will host “You Can Sing Anything” with KJ Karaokee on Saturday, Oct. 8, beginning at 7 p.m.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid Readers will meet Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Jack’s in Rapid River. October’s book is “The First Frost” by Sarah A. Allen. New members are welcome. Questions can be directed to Peg Netchey at 428-9668.

Fire department bake sale set for Oct. 9

HYDE — The Ford River Volunteer Fire Department will have a pancake breakfast and bake sale Sunday, Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Highland Golf Club. This will be the first time the breakfast is held at the new location on 3011 U.S. 2 & 41 in Hyde, just a few minutes west of Escanaba between Escanaba and Bark River.

There is a cost for the breakfast and to purchase baked goods from the sale.
