Remember When?

Daily Press file photo Workmen this week in 1963 moved ten bowling alleys from the Terrace Lanes to be installed with six new ones at the Holiday Bowl on Ludington Street, in Escanaba. The moving job, shown in this photo originally published in the Friday, Sept. 13, 1963 edition of the Daily Press, was an unusual one, as the alleys were typically cut to facilitate movement. The alleys were 80 feet long and 42 inches wide and were moved with the held of a State Police escort on the highway. The alleys weighed 2,500 pounds each.
