Dance in Rock
ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by the Red River Band. There is a cost at the door and a free-will donation lunch will be available.

Rosary Coast to Coast at St. Anne’s Oct. 9
ESCANABA — On Sunday, Oct. 9, Catholics of all ages across the world will unite in simultaneous prayer.
Those who would like to participate locally are invited to St. Anne’s Church for the Rosary Coast to Coast rally. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be at 3:50 with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Bars and coffee will be available in the parish hall following the rally.
Scare Away Domestic Violence event
ESCANABA — Tri-County Safe Harbor (TCSH) will be hosting the Scare Away Domestic Violence Run/Walk on Oct. 15 as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Monday. The run/walk aims to raise funds for resources and materials for TCSH and raise awareness about domestic violence.
Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the Ludington Park Pavilion. The non-competitive run/walk will follow at 7:30 p.m. Advance registration, which can be completed online, guarantees a t-shirt if completed by Sept. 26.
Youth age 17 and younger may register for a reduced fee.
TCSH serves domestic violence survivors in Delta, Menominee, and Schoolcraft counties, with offices in Escanaba, Menominee, and Manistique and a shelter in Escanaba. Find more information or register online at https://safe3c.com.
DAR to meet Oct. 8
HARVEY — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the home of Paula Schwenke, 46 Smith Lane, in Harvey, from noon to 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
The meeting is a potluck, so those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. If you have questions about genealogy and/or joining DAR, members will be happy to answer them after the meeting. Call Melissa at 906-226-7836 for more information.
