Legion steak feed
GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71 will be hosting a steak feed dinner on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
EHS Class of 1962
ESCANABA — All members of the Escanaba High School Class of 1962 are invited to a reunion planning session on Monday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Escanaba Civic Center. The reunion will take place on Sept. 17, 2022.
Sons of Union Veterans
ESCANABA — Camp #266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to noon in Escanaba at the All-Veterans Museum located in the Delta County Welcome Center on the south west corner of the U.P. State Fairgrounds (1001 N. Lincoln Rd.).
There is also an option to attend by Zoom. The link is available on the organization’s facebook page (www.facebook.com/SUVCWCamp266).
There will be a tour of the museum at 10 a.m., prior to the 11 a.m. meeting. All members are welcome to join this tour.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Camp #266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking, and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history. Anyone interested in the Civil War era is welcome to attend the meeting.
Eagles breakfast Sunday
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve its fifth Sunday breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Eagles Hall, located at 608 Ludington Street, in Escanaba.
There is a fee to attend the breakfast. The public is welcome.

Veterans’ picnic planned
ESCANABA — The Annual Veterans’ Picnic will be held at the Escanaba Athletic Field before the first home football game on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m. All area veterans and their spouses are welcome. Veterans and their spouses are admitted free and the veterans will be honored briefly before the start of the game.
This picnic is sponsored by the Escanaba Fan Club, Elks Lodge 354, and the Escanaba Quarterback Club.
