Legion to meet Aug. 3

ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — American Legion Post 115 Legion and Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Escanaba Township Hall.

Delta Coin Club meeting and show set

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club is Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 5 p.m. The meeting is 817 Delta Ave., Gladstone. All coin collectors are welcome to come, and the public is always welcome to come.

Book sale Aug. 6

ESCANABA — The League of Women Voters of Delta County will hold a used book, video and CD sale on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the Bonifas Fine Arts Center Waterfront Art Festival in Ludington Park.

Proceeds from the sale are used to pay for printing voter education publications or other voter services.

Book donations may be made at the Daily Press business office.

ESCANABA — Escanaba ladies of the Class of 1967 are meeting for lunch on Friday, Aug. 19 at noon at Mo’s Pub. Call Jane at 906-399-4806 for more information.

Bingo for scholarships

WEST BAGLEY — The West Bagley Homemakers, who are in their 66th year of helping local communities, have announced their fundraiser this year. It will be to provide scholarships to the class of 2023 from Stephenson and Carney-Nadeau High Schools who wish to attend a trade or technical school.

The careers these students will study for vary but may include medical and dental assistants; construction trades like carpentry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electric and roofing; printing press operators, truck drivers, welders, machinists and more.

Community members are asked to save the date and come join the fun, win prizes and sponsor the scholarships by joining the Homemakers for a bingo fundraiser on Sunday, July 31. The event will be held at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, located on Willow Street in Stephenson. Games start at 1 p.m. Central Time.
