Scholarship bingo event

WEST BAGLEY — The West Bagley Homemakers, who are in their 66th year of helping local communities, have announced their fundraiser this year. It will be to provide scholarships to the class of 2023 from Stephenson and Carney-Nadeau High Schools who wish to attend a trade or technical school.

The careers these students will study for vary but may include medical and dental assistants; construction trades like carpentry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electric and roofing; printing press operators, truck drivers, welders, machinists and more.

Community members are asked to save the date and come join the fun, win prizes and sponsor the scholarships by joining the Homemakers for a bingo fundraiser on Sunday, July 31. The event will be held at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, located on Willow Street in Stephenson. Games start at 1 p.m. Central Time.

Eagles serving breakfast

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve its fifth Sunday breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, at the Eagles Hall, located at 608 Ludington Street, Escanaba.

There is a fee to attend the breakfast. The public is welcome.

Fish boil and Croatian chicken dinner

FORD RIVER — The Ford River Lions Club will hold their annual Fish Boil and Croatian Chicken Dinner on Sunday, Aug. 7 from noon until 6 p.m., at the Lion’s Clubhouse on L.15 Lane. Turn right at the Ford River Pub.

Proceeds from this event will be used to help fund many local nonprofit organizations.
