Croatian chicken dinner
GLADSTONE -- A Croatian chicken dinner will be served Sunday, June 12 at the American Legion in Gladstone. The meal is sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion.
Meals can be served for dine-in or carry out but must be placed in advance, as only 100 chickens will be sold. Call 906-428-1050 to place your order for three to six people.
Recipes sought for Ladies Day
ESCANABA -- Ladies Day is back at the Upper Peninsula State fair, and the theme of this year's Ladies Day recipe contest is "vintage." The Ladies Day Committee is seeking retro recipes, such as those from the '40s and '50s, to grace the pages of this year's Ladies Day Cookbook.
All contributions are appreciated. Recipes may be sent to angelfire@chartermi.net.
Menominee MARSP to meet Thursday
MENOMINEE -- The Menominee County Chapter of Michigan Retired School Personnel (MARSP) will meet on Thursday, June 9, at the Little Nugget Clubhouse on East County Road 338, in Carbondale, Mich. Registration is at 11:30 a.m. CDT with the luncheon served at noon. There is a cost for the luncheon.
The program will be presented by Larry and Dan from Westland Bus Tours. They will discuss upcoming tours and travel accommodations.

ESCANABA -- The Escanaba Class of 1972 will hold their 50th reunion on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Marketplace in downtown Escanaba.
