WELLS -- The winner of the Wells Lions Club 52-week raffle for the week of March 7 is Heather Popour of Gulf Shores, Ala. Popour won $100. This was week 32 of the raffle.
Rapid Readers to meet March 16 at Jack's
RAPID RIVER -- Rapid Readers' March discussion takes place Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at Jack's Restaurant in Rapid River. "The Last Thing He Told Me" by Laura Dave is this month's selection. The choice for April 20 is "Population One" by Tyler McNamer.

Delta Kappa scholarship
ESCANABA -- The Delta Kappa Gamma Society has announced it will again award a local high school scholarship to a senior girl planning a career in education.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of women educators who promote professional and personal growth of women educators. The Beta Sigma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is composed of Escanaba, Menominee, and Iron Mountain-Kingsford.
Previous local winners of this scholarship include: 2021 – Kendra Ann Bouchard (Escanaba), 2020 – Emlyn Verbrigghe (Escanaba), 2019 – Taylor Rae Myers (Escanaba), 2018 – Amber Lynn Smith (Bark River), 2017 – Erica Rubick (Rapid River), 2016 – Mackenzie Leisner (Escanaba)
